Seattle's Pioneer Square neighborhood is right next to both major stadiums, so it's a convenient spot to grab a bite to eat and a beverage before a Seahawks or Mariners game. And tucked away down a surprisingly quiet street is Pioneer Square D&E, a true hidden gem in Washington with a head chef who isn't afraid to try new things with the menu. In fact, if you visit on a Monday, you can even try an octopus burger!
Pioneer Square D&E is located at 314 2nd Ave S. in Seattle.
The restaurant and bar was opened a couple of years ago by Jonathan Fleming and Elisabeth Aker, a husband and wife team.
The space is cozy and intimate, offering both indoor and outdoor seating.
The restaurant was designed to be simple and approachable, feeling welcoming to all.
Of course, the menu here is anything but simple, especially lately.
The restaurant has long been known for its mouthwatering fried chicken and hearty weekend brunch. But on two upcoming Mondays, September 13 and September 27, you can try their latest promotion, Berger & Burger Mondays.
Pioneer Square D&E teamed up with Kiona Vineyards for this unique dining experience, which includes several courses and a glass of wine (and you're welcome to purchase more, of course).
Your meal begins with Yakitori skewers (chicken or vegetable) and delicious Potato Croquettes with savory aioli. Choose between a glass of Kiona Lemberger and Grosgrain Pet-Nat (made with Kiona grown Lemberger grapes) to have with your meal.
Burger selections include a tofu burger option, a duck burger with shiitake mushrooms, and an octopus burger.
The Octopus Burger comes topped with chimichurri aioli and pickled red onions. If you're an adventurous eater, you'll love it.
No dinner is complete without dessert, so make sure to save room for the Lemberger Sorbet.
It's absolutely delightful. This special menu was created by Head Chef Anthony Tran, and it does not disappoint.
Pioneer Square D&E is usually closed on Mondays. Their typical dinner menu is served from 3 to 9 p.m. the rest of the week.
Choose from savory small plates, their famous fried chicken, and regular specials.
Pioneer Square D&E is a charming spot that has managed to survive all the recent hardships, for which we are thankful.
Reservations for the Berger & Burger Pop-up must be made in advance, but you can stop by for brunch or dinner during normal business hours as well.
Have you visited Pioneer Square D&E In Washington before? Would you dare to try such creative burgers? Here's your chance!
