Learn more about one of the best pubs in Washington and the sleepy town it's called home for over 100 years.
Now home to just over 12,000 people, Enumclaw was first recognized as an official Washington town in 1900. Just six years later, The Mint debuted on the corner of Cole and Griffin. In its early years, it served as a local watering hole, winning the patronage of residents until a fire destroyed the original location.
After the fire, The Mint took up residence across the street, where it continues to sling great drinks with the addition of a mouth-watering menu. Though the restaurant closed for a time, it reopened in 2013 with the same name, a nod to the history of this Enumclaw institution.
Since the start, The Mint has served 28 beers on tap. The tradition clearly has staying power; there are 28 options to stump diners, running the gamut from light and floral to dark and chocolatey.
But what's truly elevated The Mint is the implementation of a flavorful menu that's jam-packed with crave-worthy fare. The burgers tip the scales of delicious, the fries are eminently stealable.
A love of nostalgia doesn't keep the kitchen from innovating, however. Gluten-free guests can enjoy dinner alongside their companions. Various items on the menu are made with dietary restrictions in mind.
Whether you're visiting for lunch, or committing to dinner, you'll find that The Mint menu has something to satisfy everybody's cravings.
Don't sleep on the drinks! This Enumclaw spot began as an alehouse, and it continues to produce beverages worth returning for.
