If you're a fan of the timeless and treasured Harry Potter series, you've probably wondered what it's like to sip on some butterbeer. Luckily, we have a place right here in Washington where you can do that... and this spot has a ton of other amazing desserts to try as well.
Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery now has two locations in Seattle.
Their original cakery is located at 5427 Ballard Ave. NW, and you'll find the Capitol Hill location at 1650 E. Olive Way.
To say that this is a beloved local icon is an understatement.
Seattleites love their hot cakes.
Autumn Martin founded the company in 2008 when she created their signature dessert, the Take-n-Bake Molten Chocolate Cake in a Mason Jar.
Martin has an impressive culinary resume — she's worked at Canlis, Seattle's finest dining experience, and was the Head Chocolatier of Theo Chocolate. Hot Cakes has been her most exciting venture.
Hot Cakes now serves a variety of delicious desserts, from milkshakes to chocolate chip cookies and even fancy cocktails.
Their selection of molten chocolate cakes are naturally gluten-free (and there's even a vegan option).

Given this dessert shop's flair for creativity, it's not surprising that they've managed to create a wonderful butterbeer.
The drink tastes like a lighter version of the drinking caramel on the menu, which is similar to hot chocolate.
The butterbeer in Harry Potter was a mix of butterscotch, sugar. and water. Hot Cakes' version is only slightly different.
Their recipe calls for butterscotch, fresh apple cider, ginger, and sparkling wine, although you can get it without the bubbly if you'd like.
Here's the best part: This butterbeer is light enough that you can sip on it while you have a hot cake if you have a serious sweet tooth.
It would taste amazing with a Peanut Butter Cup Molten Cake.
Butterbeer is one of the many creative and unique desserts you'll find here in Washington. But when nothing but a classic cupcake will do, here's where to go.
