Once upon a time, trolley travel was a standard way of life, especially in Washington. These days, nearly all of our local trolley companies are no more, which is unfortunate. However, for a true blast from the past, all you have to do is head to San Juan Island. The Friday Harbor Jolly Trolley will allow you to explore the island in an entirely new way.
The Friday Harbor Jolly Trolley is a true mom-and-pop operation.
And if there was ever a perfect location for a trolley tour, Friday Harbor is definitely it.
This is Washington's last remaining open-aired historic trolley tour.
But even if it wasn't, it would still be our favorite.
The tour is a fun, guided exploration of exciting attractions on historic San Juan Island.
You'll see all the island's top attractions as well as a few hidden gems in a convenient hop-on, hop-off style tour.
Whether you've never been to Friday Harbor or it's your second home, the trolley tour presents everything in an entirely new light.
You've never seen the island like this.
The Friday Harbor Jolly Trolley is now in its sixth season, with a new home base location in between the Salty Fox Cafe and Friday's Crabhouse on Front Street.
The company owns five trolleys, which they have affectionately named Tony, Alison, Bella, Stella, and Charlie. They are also planning to purchase a sixth trolley in 2022.
In addition to the classic tours, you can also rent a trolley for a special occasion, like a wedding.
Imagine being whisked away to your wedding ceremony in an open-air trolley.
After a brief hiatus for obvious reasons, the Friday Harbor Jolly Trolley is back in full swing.
If you've never experienced this trolley ride, come see what you've been missing.
Have you ever heard of this old-fashioned trolley tour on San Juan Island? Check it out.
