Opening a restaurant is never easy, but opening one during a global pandemic adds a whole new level of stress. In March of 2020, days before the country as we knew it would change forever, Cuerno Bravo first opened its doors. After a brief closing, they re-opened in September 2020, and now people all over Pierce County are well acquainted with their meaty menu. If you love a good steak, you won't want to miss the chance to try Washington's Cuerno Bravo.
Cuerno Bravo is located in Tacoma's St. Helens neighborhood.
It sits in a historic building on St. Helens Avenue.
The eatery is owned by David Orozco, who also owned the beloved Mexican steakhouse Asadero, with locations in Kent and Seattle's Ballard neighborhood.
Orozco grew up in Guadalajara, where everything was grilled over charcoal. He brings that unique perspective to his newest Mexican steakhouse.
While this steakhouse has some similarities to Asadero, it's definitely one-of-a-kind.
For one, it has the longest and most thorough list of premium beef in the area. The menu also blends old-world cooking with new flavors in a wood-fired kitchen, which creates an unforgettable flavor.
The dinner menu is a carnivore's dream come true, with a lengthy list of USDA Prime, Japanese Waygu, and Australian Waygu.
You can also feast on chicken or salmon if you're not up for beef.
Even the tacos are upscale, using Waygu, ribeye, and filet mignon.
And if you're brave enough to try the bone marrow, you won't be disappointed.
While you might opt for a glass of wine to pair with your steak, you should definitely consider getting a margarita.
Much like the other house cocktails, they're out-of-this-world!
Cuerno Bravo is open Wednesday - Sunday from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
The restaurant also offers family-style dinners for takeout if you're so inclined.
