If you're a fan of a good, hearty seafood boil, you know how delicious they are, especially in a state like ours where so much fresh seafood is available. However, you probably also know that attempting to make one yourself can be time consuming, messy, and costly. Luckily, there are some fantastic restaurants here in Washington that will take care of everything for you. And at Crawfish King, you can even customize your seafood boil.
Crawfish King is located in Seattle's International District, where it has been a local favorite for over a decade.
This is Seattle's Chinatown, so it might seem odd that a Southern style seafood joint would be in the middle of it all. But the family who owns and operates it found the idea of these big, family style meals where people come together for good food and conversation impossible to resist.
Step inside and you'll see a charming, welcoming, family-friendly space.
The atmosphere is casual and laid back, but don't let appearances fool you -- the food is top notch.
While crawfish is obviously a big menu item, it's far from the only thing you can order here, so don't be put off if you're not a fan of this Southern staple.
Although we must say, they're pretty delightful when they're washed down with one of Crawfish King's famous Mason Jar Drinks.
The seafood boils here are out of this world, and you'll have plenty of control over what goes in yours.
You'll choose your seafood in one-pound increments, and they have a little bit of everything: three kinds of crab legs, lobster tails, mussels, clams, shrimp, prawns, and of course, crawfish. Then add your extras like corn, potatoes, sausage, and vegetables.
If you're indecisive or you'd rather try a variety, you can opt for one of the seafood boils on the menu.
The PNW Feast, for example, comes with clams, mussels, and three kinds of crab legs, plus corn, potatoes, andouille sausage, and mixed veggies.
You really will feast like royalty here.
You can order an enormous boil if you have a big group. In fact, they'll even put together a massive Royal Feast that's served in a boat. The Royal Feast also costs $899 and must be ordered in advance, so plan accordingly.
Due to current conditions, Crawfish King's dining room is empty for now...
... but they're still offering pre-made seafood boils for takeout and even for local delivery.
All you'll have to do is heat everything up (there will be instructions) and enjoy the feast at home.
Washington is full of small, one-of-a-kind family-owned eateries like Crawfish King, and it's important to support them. Try a tasty seafood boil the next time you find yourself near the Emerald City.
