It's no surprise that we're big fans of a well-made milkshake here in Washington. Whether you're craving an old-fashioned, simple shake from Frisko Freeze or an outrageous Instagram-worthy creation from The Yard, you can have what you want in a matter of hours (and hopefully less).
But what if we told you some of the best shakes in the state come from a little small-town restaurant that also specializes in hearty subs? Allow us to introduce you to Canna Cabana.
When you're driving through the city of Lacey (located just outside of Olympia), you must add a stop to Canna Cabana Subs & Shakes to your itinerary. This shake and sandwich shop has two locations — one drive-thru-only location and a full restaurant.
To put it mildly, this place... is not what it seems.
You can find the drive-thru-only location at 193 Marvin RD SE. The full restaurant is located at 4660 Whitman Ln SE Suite E in Lacey.
Canna Cabana isn't a pot shop, although it is well-known for its mouthwatering munchies.
The sandwich shop has been around for seven years and it's one of the highest-rated restaurants in town.
No matter if you go through the drive-thru or step inside the lively and fun restaurant, you are in for a delicious experience.
At Canna Cabana's full restaurant, you can always order take-out or relax in the colorful dining room.
This place sells classic and creative sub sandwiches that are anything but ordinary.
And it's no gimmick. The meats and cheeses are all sliced fresh daily and the sandwiches are made from the finest ingredients.
The subs here range from fairly common to, well, absolutely outrageous.
But rest assured, everything has been taste-tested extensively and it's all delicious. And with names like Grape Ape and Blue Dream, the menu ties in perfectly to the munchie theme.
But whether you get a regular-sized half sub or a Super Dank full, you should definitely save room for a milkshake.
The shakes, which come in both traditional and unique flavors, are hand-made with care and absolutely irresistible.
The team doesn't need to spend time making the milkshakes look photo-worthy. The taste always speaks for itself.
You will not be disappointed.
Have we mentioned that the sandwich bread is baked fresh each morning at the best bakery in town?
This place really does everything right.
Canna Cabana is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
This is a good thing because we doubt you'll be able to stop by just once.
The next time you find yourself with the munchies (for whatever reason) or an extra-large appetite in Thurston County, check out Canna Cabana. It will make your day.
