Located about 17 miles south of Olympia, Centralia is a small city you might know as a great stopping point between Seattle and Portland. And while the city definitely has more to offer than just good food, the fact that it does have so many delicious dining options (as well as its convenient location along I-5) makes it a perfect pit stop.
If you've never had the good fortune of discovering Berry Fields Cafe when you were there, you're missing out on some seriously underrated food. The next time you stop in Centralia, see for yourself.
Berry Fields Cafe is located at 201 S Pearl Street in Centralia, in the same building as the Star Center Antique Mall.
The mall has five specialized antique shops, so you can work up an appetite by shopping.
Inside, you'll find a cozy, intimate dining area with a rustic farmhouse vibe.
It's a perfect place to enjoy the good old-fashioned home cooking that awaits you.
Breakfast is served until 11 a.m. on weekdays on noon on the weekends.
And it happens to be so delicious, it's worth adjusting your schedule to ensure that you're passing through during breakfast.
Whether you opt for an omelet, the classic Country Man's Breakfast, or something sweet from the griddle, one thing is certain -- you will not leave hungry.
The portions are big, and the food is so tasty you'll do your best to finish it.
Of course, you're welcome to order something from the For Lighter Appetites portion of the menu if you'd rather not stuff yourself.
And if you visit during the week between 7 and 9 a.m., you can have a hearty breakfast for just $7 or $8.
Of course, breakfast isn't the only meal served here. The lunch and dinner menus are equally as appetizing.
The sandwiches are massive, the soups are homemade daily and served with freshly made oatmeal bread and honey butter, and the dinner entrees are out of this world.
While the dining room at Berry Fields Cafe has reopened with limited capacity, you're more than welcome to get your meal to-go.
Of course, you might not resist picking up something from the dessert case. Don't say we didn't warn you.
