Washington is home to some delicious restaurants, of that there is no doubt. But you'll also find some places that are so perfectly designed and decorated, your surroundings will be just as beautiful as your meal. Restaurants like these are perfect for birthdays, date nights and other celebrations.
1. El Gaucho, 2505 1st Ave., Seattle
El Gaucho is one of the Northwest's premier steakhouses, with locations in Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma and Portland. Their Seattle location makes you feel like you're entering a bygone era of dimly lit dinners, soft piano music and remarkable service. Their beautiful bar area illuminates the dark, romantic dining room, and their private dining area (pictured here) is the ultimate way to celebrate a special occasion.
2. Mizuna, 214 N. Howard St., Spokane
Whether it's the old brick walls, flowers on every table or the local art on the walls, there's no denying that the interior of Mizuna is downright charming. The good news: The food is also excellent.
3. Sel Restaurant, 229 St. Helens Ave., Tacoma
It's obvious that whoever designed Sel knew exactly what they were doing. It's hard to say what's better, the European-inspired menu, the sophisticated decor or the bay views from the patio.
4. The Black Cypress, 215 E Main St., Pullman
Pullman might be a casual college town, but The Black Cypress feels remarkably sophisticated. The delicious Mediterranean menu is what makes it a local favorite.
5. The Herbfarm, 14590 NE 145th St., Woodinville
From the magical surroundings to the expertly prepared menu of local delicacies, dining at The Herbfarm in Woodinville almost seems surreal.
6. Andante, 113 S Emerson St., Chelan
The Italian food at Andante is exceptional, but even if it wasn't, the scenery alone makes it worth going.
7. Sorrento's Ristorante, 3875 US Hwy 97A, Chelan
Another Chelan gem, Sorrento’s Ristorante, definitely belongs on this list. Located at the Tsillan Cellars winery, it boasts some of the best views in the area.
8. Canlis, 2576 Aurora Ave N., Seattle
Canlis isn't exactly an affordable neighborhood gem, but they don't pretend to be. This "once in a lifetime" dining experience is top notch from beginning to end, including the panoramic views of Lake Union.
9. Birchfield Manor, 2018 Birchfield Rd., Yakima
For decades, the Yakima community has gone to Birchfield Manor for fine dining, overnight stays, and good old-fashioned hospitality. The bed and breakfast is located in a historic 1910 home, and it still maintains its original charm.
10. Chateau Faire Le Pont Winery, 1 Vineyard Way, Wenatchee
The winery's onsite restaurant, The Chateau Grill, serves Northwest cuisine to pair with their award-winning wines. Both the winery and the surrounding scenery are beautiful.
11. Circadia, 624 Olive Way, Seattle
New to the Seattle dining scene, Circadia caught the immediate attention of locals and food critics alike due to its unbelievably swanky decor. If you ever dine here, you won't be able to resist taking a few pictures.
Of course, there are hundreds of other visually stunning restaurants in Washington. That's the beauty of living in a state so dedicated to its dining scene. Here's a delicious Washington restaurant bucket list with a few more of our gems.
