Ogden's Historic 25th Street has a rich history and a sordid past. In the early 1900s, this street was full of brothels, gambling and drugs, and during Prohibition the alcohol flowed freely.
Today, 25th Street is a vibrant place full of restaurants and shops, and it's also home to an Italian restaurant with a big secret.
Zucca Ristrorante serves up delicious Italian food in a historic building.
It's located at 225 25th Street.
Next door to the restaurant, you'll find a set of stairs. Descend the stairs...
...and go through the tunnel at the bottom until you get to a door.
The door says "Maintenance," but that's just part of the disguise. Knock on the door...
...and you'll be admitted to a secret, hidden speakeasy.
Inside, you'll find The Underground (a space for private gatherings), and 225, an intimate speakeasy that seats 25 diners.
This 1920s-themed dining area offers cozy booths, intimate lighting and plenty of history.
The walls are lined with photographs from Ogden's past, including portraits of showgirls who once made their living on 25th Street.
From the rich, leather furniture to the beautiful architectural details, this speakeasy offers an unparalleled dining experience.
The ambiance alone is worth a visit...but the food is also incredible.
225 serves all your Italian favorites from the menu at Zucca Ristorante.
The pasta is house-made and accompanied by fresh ingredients.
The menu also includes chicken, fish and meat dishes.
Menu entrees change seasonally and always include organic, local produce whenever possible.
Just like a Prohibition-era speakeasy, you'll need advanced reservations to get in.
225 is available for dining on Wednesday and Thursday from 5 PM to 9 PM; Friday and Saturday from 5 PM to 10 PM. Call 801-475-7077 to make your reservation.
