Indian food is fabulous year-round, but I think it’s especially delicious in winter months. There’s nothing like soft, garlicky naan and spicy curry to warm you right up. Here are some of Utah’s best Indian restaurants - make plans to visit some of them soon!
1. Bombay Cafe, St. George and Cedar City
Owner Shazad Sheik is an internationally-acclaimed artist, and his artistic side certainly comes through in his food presentation. This might possibly be the most beautiful Indian food in the state (and tasty, too!). 57 N. 700 E., St. George and 64 N. Main Street, Cedar City.
2. Bombay Grill, Ogden
Delicious buffet. 3035 Washington Blvd., Ogden.
3. Bombay House, Provo, Salt Lake City, West Jordan
A long-time Provo and Salt Lake Indian food staple; now they have a location in West Jordan. Great atmosphere, service and food. This restaurant has won all the awards. 463 N. University Ave., Provo; 2731 S. Parley’s Way, Salt Lake City and 7726 Campus View Dr., West Jordan.
4. Copper Bowl, Salt Lake City
Possibly the best garlic naan on the planet, and a cozy, quiet atmosphere. 214 W. 600 S., Salt Lake City.
5. Ganesh Indian Cuisine, American Fork and Midvale
With almost 100 authentic menu items, you’re sure to find plenty to love here. 74 E. State Rd., American Fork and 777 E. Fort Union Blvd., Midvale.
6. Good Karma, Park City
Indo/Persian fusion cuisine (with baklava for dessert). 1782 Prospector Ave., Park City.
7. Himalayan Kitchen, Salt Lake City and South Jordan
Cozy and friendly, with a delicious lunch buffet. 360 S. State Street, Salt Lake City and 11521 S. 4000 W., South Jordan.
8. India House Restaurant, Sandy
This little family-owned restaurant offers great atmosphere. 8660 S. State Street, Sandy.
9. India Palace, Provo, South Jordan
Best of State 2015 and Best of City for Provo 2015! 98 W. Center Street, Provo and 1086 S. Jordan Parkway, South Jordan.
10. The Kathmandu, Salt Lake City (two locations)
Indian and Nepalese cuisine. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. 3142 S. Highland Drive and 212 S. 700 E., Salt Lake City.
11. Royal Taj Indian Restaurant, St. George
The $9.95 lunch special gets rave reviews. 430 E. St. George Blvd., St. George.
12. Saffron Valley, Avenues and South Jordan
Best of State 2012 and Salt Lake Dining winner in 2012 and 2013. 26 "E" street, Salt Lake City and 1098 S. Jordan Parkway, South Jordan.
13. Tandoori Oven, Logan
The chicken tikka masala is to die for here. 720 E. 1000 N., Logan.
14. Taste of India, Layton
