When your stomach starts rumbling for lunch, it's time to find a tasty sandwich. We brought you 22 places in Utah to find the best sandwiches ever, and we recently wrote about a local sandwich shop that supports charities (and creates some mighty fine sandwiches, too). Today, we'd like to show you a little deli that's so hidden that you might not even know it exists. Check this place out!
Town and Country Market is located at 2840 S. Main Street, in South Salt Lake. It's in an industrial area, so it's kind of off the beaten path.
This little gem was once a fresh produce market. Now it's mostly just a deli, though they've kept the vintage sign out front.
While you will find a little bit of produce here, the shop mostly offers chips, soda, candy and some local products, including honey.
Head straight to the back of the store to find the friendly sandwich crew.
Every ingredient on your sandwich is the highest quality, and they offer six kinds of fresh bread.
You can get a whole or a half sandwich. These things are huge, though...so bring your appetite.
If you're really hungry, order the jumbo sandwich that comes on an ambassador roll.
Choose some chips to go with your sandwich.
Grab a salad to go.
They'll make up a sack lunch for you...and a dozen of your co-workers.
Satisfy your sweet tooth with some candy.
There's a whole wall full of cold beverages to choose from - 360 different kinds!
There's not much in the way of dining space here - just a few picnic tables under the awning.
If you've never visited Town and Country Market, you've got to check this place out. It's open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday.
