Utah has many great restaurants, but there's one place that stands out for its pie. Visit The Dodo Restaurant in Salt Lake City for the best pie you've ever had.
The Dodo Restaurant opened its doors in 1981. The restaurant has occupied a few locations, but its permanent home has been at 1355 E. 2100 S. in Sugarhouse for quite awhile now.
This restaurant is well-known for its fresh, delicious food. But it's even more well-known for its pie. Every day, you'll find five regular pies and a cake on the dessert menu, plus six more seasonal desserts. That's right... The Dodo has TWELVE desserts. Every. Day.
Toll House Pie is the specialty here.
Imagine a warm, gooey, chocolate chip cookie in a flaky pie crust. Then add real whipped cream. It's basically heaven on earth.
The other standard desserts include the Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Pie...
...Banana Cream Cheese Pie...
...Chocolate Almond Mousse Pie...
...Key Lime Pie...
...and Coconut Caramel Coffee Cake (it's every bit as decadent as the pie, trust us).
The Dodo rounds out its dessert menu with an additional six specialty desserts, which can change daily, weekly, or seasonally.
Basically, you can't go wrong with any of the 12 desserts on the menu.
The only mistake you can make is eating too much lunch/dinner. To solve this problem, order your pie first. The servers at The Dodo won't judge, based on personal experience.
The Dodo Restaurant is open seven days a week.
Visit Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
