Bakeries are the closest things to heaven on earth, don't you think? When you step inside and smell the fresh-baked bread, donuts and cookies, all thoughts of that diet you meant to start this week immediately vanish. Here's a Utah bakery that doesn't look like much from the outside, but the donuts here are amazing, and you won't find anything like them elsewhere.
Lehi Bakery has been in business for more than 45 years, and you'll see why the moment you walk through the door. This family-owned shop is located in Lehi's historic district at 172 W. Main St., Lehi, UT 84043.
The inside of the shop is pretty no-frills, but the main reason you're here is for the baked goods...and the bakery case will not disappoint.
The doughnut case is stocked with all your favorites, like these apple fritters that will melt in your mouth. You'll also find chocolate doughnuts and bars, danishes, maple bars, cinnamon rolls, Bismarks, and cake doughnuts of all varieties.
The foot doughnut is a specialty you likely won't find elsewhere.
But the real star of the show at this little bakeshop? The square glazed doughnuts.
Every morning, the bakers stack racks upon racks of these tasty treasures, and they often run out before the end of the day.
You can certainly order one or two doughnuts as a treat...but why wouldn't you take home at least a half dozen? Share them with your loved ones.
You'll also want to stop by and pick up a package of rolls, bread, or hamburger buns for dinner tonight.
The potato rolls are light and fluffy, and the shop also bakes butterflake rolls, wheat rolls, Parker House rolls, hard rolls, mini rosettes, and more.
Visit Lehi Bakery Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.. The bakery is closed on Sunday and Monday.
