5. Mash'd
It's hard to know where to start with this delightful hidden downtown restaurant with indoor/outdoor service and drinks as interesting as the food! Hearty servings, down-home cooking, and trendy variations on classics keep the menu interesting. People can't get enough of their "Chuck Norris" gravy, delectable bulgogi tacos, sauce options for various entrees, including sriracha, gogo, cajun, and adobo, and the beyond sinful desserts. You can either splurge here or stick with healthy options, but the farm-to-table fare is always a people pleaser.

6. Public School 214
Although there is more than one location for this school-themed restaurant, its colorful décor reminiscent of a classroom, and flavorful menu make it worthy of being added to the list. Seasonal items update regularly and menus also vary by location. At Public School 214, choices that take you to the head of the class include edamame hummus, a moody burger with brown bag fries, and a schoolgirl fave: Nutella cookie sandwich.
