Pizza may not be one of the major food groups in Texas, but we still indulge in it on a regular basis (especially during football season, which will be here before we know it!). There's nothing more American than chowing down on a slice of 'za and some wings while sipping a cold beer and watching our favorite team. And since we live in Texas, everything has to be supersized. Big Lou's in San Antonio combines our Texas-sized appetites with a laid-back, sports bar atmosphere for one of the most unique yet authentically patriotic dining experience you've ever had. Pies go up to 42", be sure to bring a crowd of hungry folks!
Big Lou's has been around since the turn of the century, giving an entirely new meaning to the term "Texas-sized" ever since. Their 42" pizza is such an anomaly that it was even featured on Man vs. Food!
Their symbol is a four-leaf clover, which makes completely sense because you'll need a massive stroke of luck if you even hope to finish one of these gigantic slices.
Although it's a sports bar-type atmosphere, kids are absolutely welcome - in fact, they're some of the restaurant's favorite guests! Nothing beats the look on their faces when your waiter delivers the monstrosity to the table.
The dough is made in-house daily, so each pie is as fresh and authentic as it gets. Choose from a variety of toppings and sauces to build your masterpiece (be sure to add all your favorites since there'll be leftovers for days!)
In addition to pizza, Big Lou's serves calzones, wings, flatbreads, salads, garlic bread, wraps, and pasta. There's approximately a 0% chance you'll still be hungry even after just one piece of pizza, but we thought we'd throw the option out there anyway.
Need an innovative way to propose or celebrate someone's birthday? They specialize in custom pizza designs, so look no further if you want to make someone the happiest person on earth.
Big Lou's is located at 2048 S WW White Rd
