This middle-of-nowhere hideaway offers a weekly fish fry, plus mouthwatering steak dinners on select nights. What started off as a place for locals to gather and eat steak and seafood on the weekends has become a statewide sensation.

Located about an hour northeast of College Station on Highway 75, the Leona General Store is a blast from the past with some of the most delicious home cooking you'll ever eat.

The interior is exactly what you'd expect from a small-town Texas restaurant.

Cowboy hats, vintage memorabilia, and taxidermy cover the walls, the roof is made of metal, and the tables boast wooden chairs and country-chic, red and white checkered tablecloths.

As for the food, one night a week is reserved for catfish.

The weekly fish fry includes four pieces of catfish per person (two for children), plus classic sides, such as coleslaw, beans, French fries, and a hushpuppy.

While the seafood is incredible and certainly worth mentioning, the steak is the real star of the show.

Served on select nights, the meal features a hand-cut ribeye (10 ounces is the standard portion, but you can get a bigger steak for $1.75 per additional ounce), along with sides, like salad, homemade rolls, and cheesy mashed potatoes. Grilled chicken is available as a substitute! This Leona, TX steakhouse knows its stuff!

Coated in the general store's signature rub and seared to perfection, the steaks are juicy and succulent as can be.

If you have any room left for dessert, you're in for a real treat. There's cobbler, pie, banana pudding, and chocolate fudge brownies - something to satisfy every sweet tooth!
