It's no shocker that Texans love fresh, homegrown foods, and luckily, we have many pick your own farms scattered throughout the state for you to choose from. The following farms have a variety of fruits and veggies to pick from, so make sure to support your local farmers!
1) Apple Country Orchards (Idalou)
Open Monday - Saturday from 9-6PM and Sunday from 9-4PM, you will find plenty of apples to choose from with their 6000 tree orchard! They are open year-round, and have 20 varieties of apples to choose from. Best of all, you can sit down by their waterfall while they weigh your apples and enjoy a hot apple turnover or cup of hot cider! Address is 12206 E Highway 62, Idalou, Texas 79329.
2) Berryland Farms (Winnie)
Open every weekend in October from 10AM til dark, the $9 admission gets you access to the corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayride, and many other great family-friendly attractions! They also have fresh blackberries, blueberries, tomatoes, and other vegetables available during the respective harvesting seasons. Address is 2877 FM 1941 Rd.

3) E & B Orchards (Hempstead)
Open daily from 8-6PM, they have peaches, nectarines, and blackberries available during harvest season. Unfortunately they have already closed for the year, but they welcome you back next year to pick your own fruit and try some of their delicious peach and blackberry ice cream, made with fruit grown at the orchard! Address is 28268 Clark Bottom Rd, Hempstead, TX 77445.
4) Froberg's Farm (Alvin)
Open everyday from 9AM-6PM, Froberg's offers a vast array of fruits and veggies, and lists what is available each month on their website. They also have a Cornmaze and Fall Festival going on each weekend through November 8 with many fun activities to take part in! Pick your own strawberries typically starts in January and runs through May, and hours are from 9AM-5PM. Address is 3601 West Hwy 6, Alvin, TX 77511.
5) Griffin Berry Farm (Beaumont)
This farm grows a variety of fruits, but right now they have satsumas available, and starting next month they will have kumquats. Fruit picking (aside from blueberries) is done by appointment only, so call 409-753-2247 to schedule one. Address is 2394 Moore Road, Beaumont, Texas 77713.
6) Larken Farms (Waxahachie)
They are currently closed for the season, but check back in May 2016 for updates about next year's crops! They offer many different types of peaches, plus plums and select other fruits and veggies. Located at 3653 Greathouse Rd, Waxahachie, TX 75167.
7) Love Creek Orchards (Medina)
Open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 to 4:30, they currently have persimmons to choose from. Other fruits offered are apples, figs, peaches, and blackberries at various times of the year. If you'd like, they have a picnic area near the orchard to enjoy a nice lunch, or you can go up the road to the Patio Cafe to eat. They also sell delicious homemade goodies at The Apple Store! The orchard is located at 13558 State Highway 16N, Medina, TX 78055, and the Apple Store's address is 14024 State Highway 16N, Medina, TX 78055.
8) Marburger Orchard (Fredericksburg)
Offering peaches, strawberries, and blackberries, they are currently closed for the season, but will reopen in late February or early March for strawberry season. Located at 559 Kuhlmann Rd, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.
9) Sweet Berry Farm (Marble Falls)
During the spring, you get to pick your own berries, but in the fall, you can pick your own pumpkins at the pumpkin patch! They also have tons of other fun activities going on for the fall season, open through November 8. Hours are Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat from 8:30am to 5:30pm; Sundays 11am - 5pm. 10) Windy Creek Vineyards (Sanger)
Opening again for business next May, they have delicious peaches, plums, and grapes to pick from. Located at 3295 Union Hill Rd, Sanger, TX 76266.
