Arguably the best New York-style deli in Houston, Texas, Kenny & Ziggy’s is known for its mile-high sandwiches, mouthwatering Jewish food, and cake slices that are as big as your head. This landmark restaurant is beloved not only by Houstonians, but also by celebrities. Sports icons, political figures, actors, and other famous folks have dined here, and all it takes is one bite to understand what all the hype is about. If that doesn’t convince you to check this iconic restaurant in Texas, I don’t know what will. But I believe it’s worthy of your list. You can thank me later!

Kenny & Ziggy's is, without a doubt, one of the most iconic restaurants in Houston. The traditional, New York-style Jewish deli first opened in 1999, and it's only continued to grow in popularity over the years (as evidenced by the restaurant's move to a new, bigger space in February 2022).

Between the movie posters, playbills, and caricatures on the walls and the constantly bustline atmosphere, the restaurant really has the look and feel of the Big Apple.

It's also a major celebrity hotspot. From sports figures like Dusty Baker of the Houston Astros to food personalities like Guy Fieri to actors like Jeffrey Tambor, famous folks love the food and ambiance at Kenny & Ziggy's.

Speaking of the menu, it has anything and everything your mind could possibly conceive of.

There are a whopping six pages of mouthwatering selections, ranging from lox and bagels to blintz-stuffed French toast to omelets so big, they practically fall off the plate - and that's just breakfast!

If you're stopping by for lunch or dinner, you absolutely must try one of their world-famous sandwiches. These mile-high creations are stuffed to the brim with corned beef, pastrami, chopped liver, Swiss cheese, and pretty much anything else your heart could ever desire.

The all-beef hot dogs are also a delicious choice. Do you prefer yours New York-style or wrapped in bacon?

Perhaps you're in the mood for a big bowl of comfort. In that case, you can't go wrong with matzoh ball soup - it's like a hug for your soul.
