There are many historic restaurants in Texas that have led former lives, and the Old Bank Saloon in Quanah is one of them. Housed in a former bank, this rustic eatery will take you back in time to the Wild West. The food is home-cooked and tastes just like grandma used to make, the hospitality is just what you'd expect from a small-town Texas restaurant, and the overall experience is unforgettable.
Step back in time to the Wild West when you belly up to the bar at Old Bank Saloon in Quanah, Texas. This historic building operated as a bank from 1900-1957, and its bar comes from the Brass Rail Saloon in Frederick, Oklahoma (once part of the Oklahoma Territory).
The saloon has stellar reviews, with patrons giving equal praise to the food and atmosphere. From live music and a dance floor to outdoor seating to a rustic vibe reminiscent of cowboy times, dining here is an unforgettable experience.
When you step inside, you’ll be instantly transported back to a bygone era. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself expecting to see Teddy Roosevelt bust in at any moment - after all, rumor has it he used to come here for drinks!
Most of the customers are locals, but that doesn’t mean travelers feel left out. In true small-town fashion, you’ll be made to feel like family as soon as you arrive.
Now for what you’ve been waiting for: the food. The menu is exactly what you’d expect from a saloon: fuss-free, home-cooked food that tastes just like grandma used to make. Many people recommend starting with the stuffed jalapeños, and I have to agree. A classic jalapeño popper has never done me wrong!
The chips and salsa/queso are equally as impressive. When a restaurant salts its tortilla chips just right, I can't stop eating them!
Entrees include burgers, steaks (plus a mean CFS), tacos and quesadillas, salads, and typical sides like green beans and onion rings. Make sure you grab a drink or two at the bar for the full experience!
