If you're up for a bit of an adventure, your taste buds will thank you for making the trip out to Stinnett. This tiny Panhandle town is home to Double XXL Steakhouse, a remote steakhouse in Texas that serves up the best ribeye you'll ever eat for roughly $40 a plate (that price includes sides and all the trimmings, too).

If you want to try some of the best steak in Texas, you'll have to venture down a bumpy dirt road in the small North Texas town of Stinnett.
Located about an hour north of Amarillo, Stinnett has a population of under 2,000 - but you'd never know just how small the town is if you visit Double XXL Steakhouse on a Friday or Saturday night because it always has a packed house.
Open by reservation only, this little-known steakhouse is so remote that it has almost no cell service.
To make up for it, there are three available phone numbers to increase the chances of guests' calls coming through.
If I had to think of just one word to describe the restaurant, it would be "cozy."
The rustic décor is so perfectly Texas and imparts a laid-back vibe that encourages patrons to feel totally relaxed while enjoying their meal.
Speaking of the food, it's absolutely next-level.
Most guests go with the "XXL usual," which features a 16-ounce, locally-raised, bone-in ribeye steak along with a side salad, a baked potato, garlic bread, a sausage link, and a grilled jalapeno.
All of that food comes with a price tag of just $40 per person - far less than a fancy steakhouse (and, in my opinion, a million times tastier).
For those who don't do steak, the owner, Charles Stephens, says he can offer just about anything in its place.
From seafood to BBQ to a delicious apricot-glazed pork tenderloin, the options are plentiful (no chicken, though).
The dessert selection rotates, so you never know exactly what will be available when you come - but rest assured everything is absolutely mouthwatering.
Charles' wife, Linda, is a whiz of a baker, with one forkful being all it takes to realize her genius.
Visit the website for Double XXL Steakhouse for more information, including current hours of operation. You'll also find exact directions to the restaurant on the website because GPS directions are not accurate. Lastly, you are welcome to BYOB, as the steakhouse doesn't serve alcohol.
