Nestled in the heart of Houston's Little Saigon community on Bellaire Boulevard, Kim Son is among the most popular Vietnamese restaurants in the city - and for good reason.
Using cherished family recipes passed down over generations, the restaurant has been a local favorite for more than 30 years. Kim Son also has locations on Jefferson Street and in Sugar Land.
As if the restaurant didn't already look like a palace on the outside, just wait until you step through the doors.
Opulence is par for the course here, with sleek granite countertops, beautiful artwork, and recessed lighting that, when combined, make every customer feel like royalty.
Now, let's talk about the food, shall we?
Wall-to-wall buffet tables leave you not quite knowing where to start, with delicious sights and mouthwatering aromas pulling you in all directions.
From appetizers to main dishes, the buffet is very seafood-centric.
Perhaps you'll start your meal off with some chilled oysters or peruse the vast selection at the sushi counter. Try to pace yourself, though - it would be tragic to not have any room left for entrees!
Let your senses be your guide as you fill your plate with anything and everything that piques your interest.
In addition to seafood, you'll also see plenty of chicken and beef dishes plus other delicacies like Vietnamese crepes and pork buns.
If you're feeling adventurous, go for the snails and stuffed octopus.
They're so good, even picky eaters can't get enough! Now that's impressive.
Nothing beats slurping up a giant bowl of noodle soup, and Kim Son boasts a noodle counter that dishes out all sorts of different kinds.
Rest assured there's something for everyone, no matter what toppings and add-ons you prefer.
You're probably stuffed to the brim at this point, but everyone knows humans have a separate stomach for dessert.
Bring your dining experience to a close in the sweetest way possible with rice pudding, Vietnamese yogurt, sesame balls, and many more treats that balance out all the savory.
Kim Son has two additional locations, one of which is also in Houston, and the other in Stafford.
In addition to the buffet, Kim Son offers a full sit-down menu and dim sum, as well. The buffet costs $19.95 per person, and hours are 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, and 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Visit the restaurant's website or Facebook page to learn more.
