If there's any place you wouldn't expect to have great dessert, it's a barbecue restaurant. Smoked meats and after dinner treats often require two opposing skillsets, but at Oak'd BBQ in Dallas, they're one in the same. Having opened in fall 2020, during the thick of the battle against COVID-19, Oak'd BBQ has been overcoming adversity since day one.
Located on Greenville Avenue in Dallas, this chef-driven restaurant boasts locally sourced meats and side dishes in a sleek, yet laid-back environment.
The menu boasts a variety of different meats, with Wagyu brisket from nearby Rosewood Ranch being the Oak'd specialty.
Other meats include beef and pork ribs, smoked chicken, Wagyu sausage, burnt ends, pork butt, and smoked turkey breast, all sold by the half-pound.
Don't forget to add a few handcrafted sides for the complete Oak'd experience.
There are nearly two dozen from which to choose, including fan favorites like baked beans, three-cheese mac, and potato salad.
If you prefer eating with your hands, opt for one of seven different sandwiches.
No two feature the same type of meat, but they all have one thing in common: being stacked so high, fitting your mouth around both ends could be an Olympic sport.
