The blink-and-you'll-miss-it local spot is a dream for ice cream enthusiasts, and you can expect to be treated with all the hospitality this small-town shop can muster.
In the small town of Waverly, Tennesee, there is a little dessert shop unlike any other. You will find it right on North Church Street, between small boutiques and locally owned storefronts. A whimsical milkshake graphic on the front window makes it very difficult to miss the creatively titled "Milkshakery."
Inside, the pastel colors and cool, diner-inspired elements add a sense of nostalgia to every visit. How can you not feel a kinship with the past, those afternoons spent sipping malts in the '50s, as you enjoy your own thoughtfully crafted milkshake?
The dessert shop is locally owned and operated, so you can expect a level of kindness and hospitality you won't find at corporate stores and fast food joints. Here, your order is taken with a smile and served up fresh. The dessert concept was introduced by a mother and her two daughters in the midst of the 2020 pandemic, and locals quickly showed up for the fun new ice cream spot.
Blue Bell Ice Cream is the base for the ice cream menu at The Milkshakery. You can order a scoop or a cone, but it's the over-the-top milkshakes that steal the show.
Just look at that, folks! Piled high with ice cream and whipped cream and additions galore, you will definitely have to bring a buddy to share in the milkshake fun. Here you can see the "Cinnamon Toast Crunch," a vanilla milkshake topped with cereal, cinnamon sugar, vanilla frosting, and gold dust.
