Chattanooga is known for its hiking trails and aquarium, for its quaint downtown area, and cute farmer's markets. Still, for us, a fine dining experience between spending time in the great outdoors and a perfectly local shopping spree sounds elegant and lovely. Allow us to introduce you to one of the best restaurants in Tennessee. Public House opened to great fanfare and has continued to be a local destination in the Scenic City. Great for work meetings, family dinners, and a good old-fashioned date night, we have one menu item you can't miss out on ordering.
Public House in Chattanooga was born of a gourmet-trained chef who yearned for a world that existed beyond heated, to-the-minute evenings and intense restaurant reviews. It's a stressful place to be, and an upscale family environment was much more inviting - which is how the dream for Public House began.
The interior design is beautiful and simple, an ode to the history of the city and a way to elevate the enjoyment of the updated Southern meals on the menu. This truly is one of the best restaurants in Chattanooga.
Updated, locally sourced Southern fare & a discerning wine list in a refined, relaxed setting.
All ingredients are locally sourced and fresh, which is a neat thing to experience in a restaurant. Local economies are bolstered by Public House and Chattanoogans have the chance to support their home with a date night out.
You can even upgrade an afternoon meeting or a low-key family event by hosting it in the gorgeous, exposed brick encrusted space.
The biggest menu draw at this Chattanooga restaurant is by far their fried chicken. It's known for its perfectly crispy outer edge and moist meat straight to the bone, served with classic sides like macaroni and cheese. The secret, though, lies in the chicken brine. (Psst...it's sweet tea! Your chicken is brined in sweet tea!)
The historic building makes for a truly stunning experience, one that gets to the heart of Chattanooga's history of Warehouse Row and allows you to be a part of it, even a little bit, yourself.
If you're looking to visit for yourself, you can head towards 1110 Market Street, Suite 101 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Make sure to make a reservation for large parties!
Have you ever been? Would you consider this to be one of the best restaurants in Tennessee? For more information please make sure you visit the Public House website. If you want to hang out in the city longer then we would suggest staying at another Chattanooga classic; The Read House.
Chattanooga may be pretty and full of great food (what's not to like?!), but this historic Memphis hotel is also worth a visit. Have you been...?
