Some are diners, some are low-key restaurants and taco joints, you'll even find a juice bar in here. It's a hodge-podge of quick eats and Nashville quirk that is bound to strike your fancy. Order up!
10. Athens Restaurant
Athens Family Restaurant is a great place if you're looking for something heavy real fast. Choose something from their Greek menu, snag a hefty breakfast (with hot chocolate!) or indulge in a plate full of fries. 9. Peace Love and Pho
You don't HAVE to get pho if you pitch up to this 8th Avenue eatery, but it comes highly recommended. Their rice bowls and banh mi are also noteworthy and worth a couple of bucks. The ambiance is low key and hip, creating a neat vibe for office lunches or date night. (2112 8th Ave S)
8. The Sunflower Café
You won't have to wait at Sunflower! All the meals are locally sourced and perfect for the vegetarian in your life, and of course those of you who are looking for a solid meal. You order from a cafeteria-esque line and will be able to choose from a varied menu at solid prices. Plus, it's located in a tiny Berry Hill house - what an experience. (2834 Azalea Place)
7. Eastland Café
Located in East Nashville, Eastland Cafe is a neat neighborhood eatery that's great if you need fabulous food without a million year wait. Okay, exaggeration - but really. This is one of the best places to eat if you're bringing a group, and the service is bound to leave you ready to return. (97 Chapel Avenue)
6. Franklin Juice Company
Although this 12 South locale is not quite a restaurant, it's great for a healthy breakfast or meal on the go, open from seven to seven everyday. Try out a coffee soda, indulge in an acai bowl or order a smoothie to go. (2301 12th Ave S #102)
5. Local Taco
Local Taco has a couple of locations around town, touted by the internet as one of the best Tex-Mex spots in the city. Their tacos are not only delicious, but creative and well-varied. There are even a couple local beers on tap if you're looking to imbibe. Just walk in - you'll be fine!
4. Frothy Monkey
A psuedo-restaurant, Frothy Monkey is known for its coffee but serves up a solid menu of sandwiches, soups and other quick eats. Check out their neat location downtown or enjoy a Wine Down Wednesday in 12South, the options are varied and the fun is expansive. Enjoy, enjoy! (Various)
3. M.L. Rose Craft Beer & Burgers
ML Rose is a great spot to watch the game and meet some pals for a drink. We'd recommend the sweet potato fries and one of their creative burger options. Grab a pint of beer and head on over where both the young and old hang out. There's no judgment, here - and no reservations. (Various)
2. Village Pub & Beer Garden
Ah, Village Pub. What a solid spot to hangout! This east Nashville hot spot is best known for their "Mule Mondays," when you can grab a Moscow Mule for half price. Their wrap-around patio is great for all weather, and their stuffed pretzels are sure to keep you full long after the daylight fades. (1308 McGavock Pike)
1. Oscar's Taco Shop
Oscar's Taco is the downtown taco spot perfect for a savvy traveler or local on a budget. They serve up solid tacos (we're a huge fan of the chorizo!) with California flair. Yep, you heard us right - enjoy a bit of the west coast right here in the middle of the US. Walk up only, so you're in luck. (Various)
