When it comes to Nashville, we take our donut shops seriously. This is the kind of morning pastry that you really can't skimp on, the crowning glory of bakeries everywhere. We've found seven (in no particular order), that will give you the Saturday morning sugar high you dream about all week - and super close to home.
7. Five Daughters Bakery - Multiple Locations
A gourmet bakery, the family-owned bakery is perfect for a girls brunch or a frothy sugar infusion over the weekend. Renowned across the city, there are now multiple locations in Nashville, Franklin, and East Nashville.
6. Vegan Vee - 306 46th Ave N
Here you can see the Snickerdoodle and Lemon Blueberry donut options, but Vegan Vee is both gluten-free AND vegan, making it one of the most popular spots in the city.
5. Yeast Nashville - 805 Woodland St #300
Nope - this is NOT a donut shop. We couldn't make a list of amazing morning pastries without including Yeast Nashville, home of the Tex-Czech Kolaches. With sweet and savory flavors, this is a donut-esque pastry that's not quite a donut - but it's just as good.
4. Thank God Donuts - 115 Walton Ferry Rd
This locally owned Hendersonville location has a cult following amongst the community and North Nashvillians alike. With a strong, generational following, Thank God Donuts isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
3. Shipley Do-Nuts - Multiple Locations
The Texas-based chain is one of the most popular donut spots in Nashville. You'll find one in Donelson and Madison, both of which sell out in hours. Call ahead or get there early.
2. Gourmet Donuts - 3993 N Mount Juliet Road
This Mt. Juliet hot-spot is great if you're looking for a festive donut nod to upcoming holidays, an easy place for you to meet folks for a sweet bit of goodness in the morning, or simply the Saturday must-visit for your kids.
1. Fox's Donut Den - 3900 Hillsboro Pike
This is probably the most well-known, classic donut shop in Nashville. It's been open for absolute ages - and? The doors don't lock. Yep, you have 24-hour access to donuts here, and that's the sweetest kind of pastry you can get.
How many of the seven have you visited...? Because we're about to hit up all seven of 'em!
