We have a ton of coffee shops in Nashville, but sometimes you just need a sweet and little cafe for a quiet lunch or a cup of coffee without all the hipsters. We've found ten darling little places that are great for you and a loved one, or maybe just you and a book. Curl up post-sandwich and snag an iced latte for a quiet afternoon to yourself.
10. Ugly Mugs
Ugly Mugs is as 'hipster' as we get on this list. Their sleek cafe atmosphere is perfectly offset by comforting lattes and their great lunch options. We're a big fan of all their sandwiches, so grab a bite to eat and get to work. (1886 Eastland Ave)
9. Fido
Located in Hillsboro Village, Fido is probably one of the most popular spots on our list due to its vicinity to local colleges like Belmont and Vanderbilt. It's known as a favorite of Taylor Swift, and their coffee specialties as well as expansive pastry case options make for a great experience. (1812 21st Ave S)
8. SideKicks Cafe
Sidekicks is a newcomer, tucked away in an old home in Madison. Although the customer service needs a bit of help, we're willing to keep this Nashville newbie on the list. Growing pains, right? Head on over for lunch or a quick cup of coffee. (1202 South Graycroft Avenue)
7. The Post East
The Post East is best for those of you that are looking for a morning smoothie, have a gluten sensitivity or an intense aversion to anything slightly bad for you. A neatly designed space makes for a fun experience - and they make their own juice! (1701 Fatherland Street)
6. Portland Brew East
Portland Brew East is the lesser known brother to its 12 South counterpart, but their upstairs area is great as a quiet workspace, and their bagel sandwiches are to die for. We'd also recommend their greek yogurt with homemade granola - we could eat it by the pound! (1921 Eastland Ave)
5. The Jam Coffee House
The Jam is where you go to feel kind of cool...? But not over the top. WE love its comforting, homey atmosphere and they make it a mission to serve locally sourced ingredients. You have to love a business that loves where it's at - there's a depth to your purchase. (1210 Wedgewood Ave)
4. Sunflower Café
Sunflower Cafe is definitely a lunch cafe, serving up vegan and vegetarian dishes in a cafeteria-like line. Their deck is great for eating outside when the weather is nice, and we're a HUGE fan of their revolving menu. Plus, their salads are killer! (2834 Azalea Place)
3. J&J's Market & Café
As one of the longest standing cafes in Nashville, you have to love this brick-laid shop right on Broadway. A cross between a low-key cafe and a small grocery mart, J&J's is great for the late night munchies or first date jitters. (1912 Broadway)
2. The Terminal Café
Having just opened in September, The Terminal Cafe has just hit its 7 month anniversary with wild praise. Locals are raving about their expansive lunch and dinner menu, others simply beside themselves will how welcome they felt walking through the front door. We'd give it five stars! (733 Porter Road)
1. Uncommon Grounds
Uncommon Grounds is tucked away in Old Hickory, manned by one of the kindest men you'll meet and decorated with a hodge-podge of tables and chairs. The family atmosphere is fun, and you won't feel awkward or unwelcome at any point. It's an extension of your living room! (1053 Donelson Avenue)
