Tennessee is best known for platters of fried chicken and biscuits doused in gravy, but every once in a while folks get a hankering for a different kind of southern cuisine. Something a bit closer to the Gulf, infused with a bit of seafood and plenty of crispy, crunchy carbs...a taste of New Orleans. Mardi Gras Memphis Restaurant and Bar is located in Memphis, Tennessee, and boasts an expansive food and drink menu that will transport you straight to the Big Easy.
Mardi Gras Memphis has made it its mission to provide delicious and authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine to the folks of East Tennessee.
The bright atmosphere and fun-loving staff are sure to elevate your mood immediately. This is where you come to experience crawfish etouffee and seafood boils, where delicious food pairs perfectly with a hint of southern comfort and fun.
Folks rave about the expansive menu, with favorites like crawfish corn chowder, Blake's Boy Chowder Pistolet and red beans and rice available in spades.
It's the Po'Boys, though, that really take the cake. We'd highly recommend the classic shrimp po'boy, where fried shrimp is served up on French bread with lettuce, tomato, mayo and remoulade sauce. The oyster or catfish sandwiches will also hit the spot.
If you're looking for something a bit less bread-heavy, the grilled catfish served with fried oysters and Cajun dirty rice might be what you're seeking. The Mardis Gras Pasta is also a favorite: a penne pasta dish stuffed full of andouille sausage, chicken, shrimp, mushrooms and bell peppers in a cream sauce.
Would it be a culinary trip to New Orleans without a daiquiri? Make sure to order one (or two...?) to up the ante on your meal at Mardis Gras Memphis.
There's no better place to indulge in Memphis, and you can from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Wednesday until Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Keep in mind that the fun and games don't happen on Monday or Tuesday, so plan accordingly.
