Nashville is known as a town of honky-tonks and fried chicken. The birthplace of hot chicken, mind you, and fabulous for fans of biscuits and sweet tea and all sorts of sweet and sticky buns, Music City has expanded beyond its stereotypical musicality and into the foodie realm. Still, no matter how popular the city becomes, there are still a few quirky and unique spots that are great for out-of-towners and locals alike. For example. Have you ever been to I Dream of Weenie?
Located in the quirky and artistic hub of Nashville, I Dream of Weenie is a fun local restaurant located in a vintage VW Bus. It's a local, "weenery" that sells fabulous hot dogs with a twist.
We're going to use the term "restaurant" lightly, because this fun spot serves inventive hot dog masterpieces through their walk-up window. Although you may feel this is best utilized during the warmer months, we can't imagine a better way to brighten up the drab months of winter than a taste of summertime.
Locally owned and operated, I Dream of Weenie serves up delicious eats with happy hearts and friendly service. Their brunch dog is super fun during the earlier times of day, but later in the afternoon you may find us getting a bit more inventive.
The Guaco-Taco weenie looks like a winner to us - it's a hot dog that topped with crushed Fritos, guac, cheddar cheese, sour cream and a ton of taco filling. Delicious!
Here's the deal, though. Anything pizza is a winner to us and this pizza weenie looks all sorts of decadent.
Southern folk, hold onto your hats - the shrimp and grits weenie really takes the cake across the board.
I Dream of Weenie is located at 113 S 11th Street in East Nashville, Tennessee. Enjoy your visit.
