Brunch is a millennial necessity. It has received a huge wave of young followers, thanks in part to an uptick in avocado toast offerings. Whether you're new to the brunch game or just shaking your head at the newbies, we have eleven places in Nashville that are well worth a try this Saturday. Some are new, some are old, all are delicious. How many have you tried...?
11. Caviar & Bananas
This beautiful, light-filled addition to Nashville's midtown breakfast scene is great for a quick coffee or meal on the go. The Charleston-based chain is set up almost like a food court - albeit a super millennial and highly trendy one - and serves up different meals around the restaurant. You take a number and eat on paper plates, but their breakfast sandwiches sure are tasty! (2031 Broadway)
10. Butchertown Hall
Butchertown Hall is not for veggie lovers, and they let you know straight from the get-go. A full bar and tacos that drip with grease and flavor are a necessary addition to your brunch list. The light and airy atmosphere sets you at ease while gorging on Texas toast and their fabulous mimosas. We’d highly recommend! (1416 4th Ave N)
9. Urban Cowboy Public House
Founded by a wildly creative New York duo with an eye for interior design, the Urban Cowboy Public house is so cool it hurts. Located in East Nashville, the hybrid bed and breakfast, bar and kitchen is a destination for any brunch minded Nashvillian. Try out their pork on toast with apple butter, or maybe their cowboy chilaquilas. You truly can't go wrong. (103 N 16th Street)
8. Henrietta Red
Henrietta Red burst onto the Nashville scene with their emphasis on seafood - fresh fish dishes, and a whole lot of 'em. Make sure to check out their Facebook page for updates on their brunch offerings (their monkey bread is amazing!), because eating in this space? Is unmatched. (1200 4th Avenue N)
7. Tànsuŏ
Tànsuŏ is Nashville's stab at contemporary Chinese fare, and it's going pretty well if you ask us! They just recently opened their doors for brunch in June, and you can enjoy cocktails as well as traditional sweets and a dim sum cart. (121B 12th Ave N)
6. Little Octopus
The Little Octopus may just be the most beautiful restaurant Nashville has seen - ever. Flooded with natural light and bursting with calming interior detailing, this is the best kind of place to welcome in the weekend. Their coastal inspiration infuses each dish with a memorable kick, making this a meal to remember. (505 12th Ave. S)
5. Josephine
Located in 12 South, you most likely have tried Josephine for their delicious dinner menu. Their seasonal emphases changes consistently, featuring local ingredients and a knowledgable staff. If you go for brunch? You can enjoy staples such as their meyer lemon donuts and candied orange and Nutella French toast. Need we say more...? (2316 12th Avenue South)
4. Proper Bagel
Proper Bagel is quick, carb-centric eatery that gives you that burst of energy you need to get through your weekend. Yes, their avocado toast is the stuff of legends, but we'd also recommend their New Yorker breakfast bagel. It's stuffed full of scrambled eggs, sauteed lox & onions with a decadent scallion dill cream cheese. Yum! (2011 Belmont Boulevard)
3. The Pfunky Griddle
Pfunky Griddle deserves a spot on our list for their fun idea (make your own pancakes!) and family-friendly atmosphere. Located in Berry Hill, you can enjoy pancakes of all sorts with a griddle at your own table. Fun, quirky, and all-around enjoyable, Pfunky Griddle is a great date spot and fun for the littles. (2800 Bransford Avenue)
2. EiO & The Hive
EiO & The Hive has solidly given The Nations neighborhood a leg up on the healthy side of things. As a casual and health focused restaurant, this all-organic hot spot serves up brunch and breakfast to the health craving masses. All ingredients are locally sourced, and the warm decor makes for an experience. (5304 Charlotte Avenue)
1. Finn & Pearl
A 12 Avenue South mainstay, Finn & Pearl turns traditional seafood fare on its head. Considered a, "sea-to-fork" restaurant, you'll only get the freshest food with a solid southern twist.
