If you love chocolate, then you probably love homemade fudge. When it's done right, it's creamy and delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. Luckily for chocolate lovers, there's an adorable little shop in South Dakota that makes the best fudge ever. Take a look!
The original Turtle Town, at 117 Winter Street in Keystone, opened in 1977.
Turtle Town's second location is at 205 Main Street, in Hill City.
When you walk in the door, you'll immediately be greeted by the aromas of chocolate, sugar and butter.
Head on over to the fudge counter and take a look at all the flavors. With 20 different varieties, you're sure to find one to tempt your tastebuds.
The fudge here is made in a copper kettle, the old-fashioned way.
Then it's poured onto a marble slab to cool down properly. You won't find any granulated fudge here!
Everything in this chocolate shop is handmade.
Ice cream is a delicious treat on a hot summer day, and Turtle Town has 16 kinds to choose from.
While you're here, you definitely need to try a turtle. These turtles aren't tiny - one (ok, maybe two) should satisfy you.
How about some salted caramels?
What pairs perfectly with chocolate? Wine, of course! Turtle Town offers many varieties of local wine.
The next time you're in Keystone or Hill City, stop in for a tasty treat at Turtle Town...and bring your sweet tooth.
Turtle Town is open seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Learn more (and even order some goodies to be mailed to you if you're out of state) on their website.
