The very next time you're in the Lowcountry (which technically could be now, right?) you should most definitely pay a visit to one of the most eclectic restaurants in South Carolina. From their decor, to their food and their (non)attitude, Taco Boy is all up into embracing their quirky side - and you're going to love it.
If you happen to wander in during a season when sitting outdoors is at all fathomable, then do it. Their patio is all the rage. And that white flowering vine you see over the entrance in the photo below... is heavenly scented in the spring and early summer months.
In addition to being smattered with all things eclectic for decor, the outdoor seating is roomy and mostly in the shade, so you can keep your cool in warmer temps (if you want).
That being said, the funk and quirkiness swiftly carry into the decor inside the restaurant too. The person who took this photo must have been one of the very first to arrive, because it's never this empty (just saying).
If you're attracted to all things beautiful, different and tasty, then you'll love the way the food arrives. These tacos make me want to get up from my desk right now and drive to Charleston.
Speaking of food, be sure to get an order of nachos too. You can't leave without trying their delectable pile of chips smothered in toppings, with a dollop of fresh guac to top it off.
Lest we forget to mention the eclectic drinks! Hey, is that a pixie straw? I want one...
From the roomy patio to the tasteful, yet quirky, decor and the scrumptious food, this Charleston eatery is one you'll be happy you tried.
Taco Boy is located on the upper Charleston peninsula with plenty of off-street parking. (They also have a location on Folly Beach.)
You can find them in Charleston at 217 Huger Street, 29403. They're open seven days a week from 11am - 10pm. Follow their Facebook page to stay current.
If you're driving in from out of town and dare to stay overnight in a haunted abode, then read about the hauntings at this historic inn in Charleston.
