Whether your daily menu is regularly dedicated to meat and potatoes, or you savor the delight of a juicy, grilled steak on only the rarest of occasions, there is one steak in all of South Carolina that belongs on the bucket list. And it's not only the steak that makes the experience what it is, the little country market in which it's carefully cut and then cooked to perfection is equally delish in charm as the steak is in savory goodness.
If you've never heard of Mr. Bunky's Market, then you're in for a variety of surprises.
Found on US-378 (Garners Ferry Road, for those familiar with Columbia), Mr. Bunky's is more than the quintessential country market. It's overflowing with two floors of anything you need, and a plethora of items you didn't know you needed.
Among the many surprises found at this country market (and gas station) is a full-service restaurant.
Located right inside the market, this eatery is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is a local favorite...
...especially for their finger-lickin' fried chicken!
But if it's steak you crave, Mr. Bunky's has one of the biggest and tastiest sirloin steaks we've ever seen! And you can bet your bottom dollar it's cut fresh from the Meat Market counter right in this very store!
On the menu, this massive (and delicious) cut of meat is called the Bodacious Beef Platter. It's 32 ounces of sirloin, grilled to perfection and served with your choice of sides. Oh my. Just think... if you can't eat it all, then you can bring it home and make fajitas or add it to your eggs in the morning. But you'll bring your A-Game anyway and at least TRY to finish, won't you?!
Licking your lips already? If not, then be sure to remember Mr. Bunky's in Eastover for the next time you're craving a delicious steak.
