With recent rises in inflation, many are looking for ways to pinch pennies and stretch every dollar perhaps more than ever before. Flea market shopping is certainly a go-to solution in these cases. But what if it could also serve as a fun day out for the family? For example, Greenville’s White Horse Flea Market is more than a flea market in South Carolina, where you will not only find great bargains but also food and fun!
Family-owned and situated on 25 acres, a multitude of all types of vendors with booths to peruse participate each weekend. Sheena’s Naturals is just one you may come across, offering natural, handmade wellness and personal care products.
You truly never know what you might find at the area’s largest market. One weekend in 2021, Royalty Health Scrubs was a participating vendor.
In the market for a guitar, by chance?
Or perhaps you need a refrigerator, washer, dryer, or dishwasher?
Who doesn’t love good, fresh produce? It’s best to buy earlier in the day for the best selection.
But that’s the case in general for all types of items and vendors and possibly for getting the best deals as well. Farm fresh eggs can also be found.
Turkeys, peacocks, guineas, goats, roosters, baby quail, and more have been spotted in the livestock area.
Of course, there are plenty of clothes and shoes to choose from.
When you’re ready for a bite to eat, there’s a diner available. There may also be food trucks or other types of food vendors set up.
And then, there’s a carousel and possibly other games or fun rides for the kids!
It can be an educational experience, too, for teaching basic life skills such as budgeting, how to attempt to negotiate pricing, and sorting through items to identify potentially valuable ones.
Bring cash as some vendors may only accept this form of payment. Wear comfortable shoes and dress comfortably for the longer periods of walking you may do if you stay for a while.
If you happen upon an item that could have a story behind it, don’t hesitate to ask the vendor. While he or she may not know, it would be a shame to miss out on a great story about your new treasure.
If you’re coming from out of town to shop here, be sure to meander around other parts of Greenville, quite possibly the Coolest Place In The South!
