Dining out in South Carolina? There are endless options for a delightful dining experience. But if you're in the Charleston area, you'll want to check out the Angel Oak Restaurant, a rustic locale hiding in plain sight just south of town. The eatery channels Old World charm while infusing the menu with progressive, yet Southern flavors.
From the outside, you'd never guess what is awaiting inside this unassuming building.
Sure you could sit outside in the courtyard, weather permitting, but then you'd be missing out on the rustic interior.
With its exposed raw beams overhead and worn wooden floor beneath, Angel Oak is the exact opposite of fancy. Or is it?
The delicious food certainly beckons otherwise.
The menu here is always changing because this farm to table restaurant follows what's in season.
Sunday Brunch is a great time to sample the best breakfast around.
But Angel Oak Restaurant is also open for lunch and supper.
You'll usually find a fish of the day on the lunch menu, as well as chicken and possibly even shrimp and grits (remember the menu is always changing).
And for dinner (we love that it's called 'supper' at Angel Oak) you can dine on buttermilk fried chicken, filet mignon, fried shrimp, salmon, and more.
There's something on the menu for every liking, so come hungry and prepare to chow down.
Oh, and if you have kiddos in tow, Angel Oak has a special kids menu.
