Sure, San Francisco has some pretty incredible restaurants, but sometimes the most satisfying food can come straight out of a truck. And thanks to events and places like Off the Grid and the SoMa Streatfood Park, the city has seen some pretty delicious eats coming out of these restaurants on wheels. Here are 10 of the best food trucks in San Francisco.
1. El Tonayense Taco Truck
The OG of San Francisco food trucks, this taqueria on wheels has been representing in the Mission District since 1993. You can find it along Harrison Street, typically in front of Best Buy—ok, not the prettiest scenery, but who cares when those juicy carnitas and salsa start running down your chin.
2. Senor Sisig: Filipino Fusion Food Truck
Sisig is a Filipino happy hour dish that traditionally is made from parts of the pig’s head. This savvy food truck uses the pork shoulder (as well as chicken and tofu) instead, marinating it all in a rich array of spices. The Senor in their name refers to the unique way they present it: via Mexican-style dishes, including tacos, burritos (stuffed with fries!), and nachos. Find out where they’ll be today.
3. JapaCurry Truck
The Bay Area’s first Japanese food truck, this one offers homemade curry (featuring a mix of "secret spices and superior ingredients") with pork, chicken, tofu, or pumpkin, as well as fresh bento boxes, which serve as excellent well-rounded meals. 4. Del Popolo
This is no average pizza truck. In fact this one is worth roughly $180,000 — that's how serious these people are about their pizza. Del Popolo specializes in slightly blackened, wood-fired pie with the simplest and freshest ingredients. 5. The Chairman
This popular truck is famous for its bao, a Chinese steamed bun filled with goodies like tender pork belly, spicy chicken, or miso-cured tofu. The buns here are made fresh daily. Check the truck’s schedule here, or head on over to the restaurant at 670 Larkin Street.
6. Roli Roti Gourmet Rotisserie
This roving rotisserie has been setting up in farmers markets around the Bay Area since 2002. They offer mouthwatering free-range chicken, rosemary fingerling potatoes, and well-stuffed sandwiches. See their schedule here.
7. Bowl’d Acai
What, you thought all food trucks only offered fried, greasy calorie bombs? This healthy option uses the famous Brazilian superfruit acai as the base for its energy-boosting bowls that are topped with berries, granola, seeds, and other superfoods like bee pollen and goji berry. Smoothies and juices are also available. The truck is typically parked at 622 Sacramento Stret and 14 Mint Plaza between 8am-2:30pm Monday through Friday. See the whole schedule here.
8. Mayo & Mustard
This gourmet food truck offers hot deli-style sandwiches, featuring top-quality meats, an array of bread and cheese choices, plus toppings (mayo and mustard, of course!). Check their Twitter page to see their full schedule.
9. Hella Vegan Eats

The grub you get here blends together Asian flavors with American-style comfort food.
