Outdoor dining went from a summertime special occasion to a year-round experience this year, with many local eateries heating their patios or importing igloos to keep dining out as safe as possible. But at Providence's only rooftop bar, Rooftop at The Providence G, dining and drinking al fresco has always been available in any season. And this winter, they've made the experience even cozier.
Rooftop at The Providence G is located at 100 Dorrance Street in downtown Providence.
The rooftop bar sits seven stories above the center of downtown, offering fresh air and fantastic views.
This has always been a year-round outdoor dining destination, and the team has worked to keep things both safe and sanitary.
This is a beautiful place to gather with friends, sip craft cocktails, and snack on tasty food.
The fire pits have clean blankets awaiting you, perfect for bundling up on a cold winter night.
Given the intensity of the year and all the isolation that came with it, we'll never take these cozy small group gatherings by the fire pit for granted again.
The outdoor dining area has a retractable glass rooftop to keep out the elements, but plenty of open ventilation for safe dining.
Plus, the views of the starry sky are unreal.
This year, you can also opt for a more private experience with igloo dining.
The igloos must be reserved in advance, and capacity is limited. However, it's a pretty fantastic experience.
Rooftop at The Providence G is known for its creative cocktails, but the food is also quite tasty.
The food menu focuses mainly on small bites and appetizers like fried oysters, mussels, and flatbreads.
Of course, if you're really hungry, you can also order a hearty entree.
In addition to the classics like the Rooftop Burger and Lumaconi Pasta, they've just rolled out a few new entree options, like this delicious beef and broccoli.
Rooftop at the Providence G is the decadent escape from reality we can all use right now. This looks like the perfect way to celebrate a new year!
