Dining out is fun any time of the year, and we certainly have no shortage of amazing restaurants in Rhode Island. How about visiting one new restaurant a month for the entire year? If that sounds like fun, take a look at these 12 exciting eateries - one for every month of the year - for a bit of inspiration.
1. January: Ebisu
A great way to start off your culinary adventures this year is with a visit to Ebisu, which has two locations, one in Providence and one in East Providence. This restaurant specializes in Japanese comfort food and features more traditional offerings than can be found in many American Japanese restaurants. Ebisu is particularly known for their shabu, which is a hot pot dish comprised of thinly sliced meat, vegetables, and various sauces.

2. February: Rasoi
Rasoi offers absolutely mouthwatering Indian food that many say is the best in the state. The menu has a well-rounded collection of items for vegetarians and meat lovers alike, and nothing warms the body like some spice. We highly recommend the samosas and sag paneer, but it's impossible to make a bad choice at Rasoi.

3. March: Waterman Grille
As the weather warms up, this Newport eatery is a great choice. The menu is full of upscale classics perfect for all types of palates (we love the monkfish.) And you can even watch the Brown University crew team sail by if you get a table by the window.

4. April: The Slow Rhode
As spring starts to arrive in the Northeast, you may still be craving classic comfort foods, but are looking for something a little more creative. Well, the Slow Rhode has got your back. Offering both small plates and larger meals, this hip spot will satisfy any sized appetite. Be sure to give the pork rillete with apricot relish a try!

5. May: Matunuck Oyster Bar
The warm weather and light cool breeze that May brings means it's the perfect time for some outdoor dining and fresh seafood. Matunuck Oyster bar not only features a massive raw bar, but also has cooked options, as well as seafood salads, pastas, and a few options for those who aren't in love with seafood. Make sure to come hungry, you don't want to miss out on the lobster pizza and bourbon oysters.

6. June: Garden Grille
If you want to start your summer off with some fresh and creative food, look no further than Garden Grille. Their menu is all locally sourced and vegetarian, but even the most die hard carnivores will find something to love here. We love the pastrami seitan Rueben for a hearty cruelty-free lunch.

7. July: Bristol Oyster Bar
July is the best month to visit Bristol; with their Independence Day parade and regular outdoor concerts, the town becomes truly awesome in the summer. If you are heading into Bristol for some revelry, we suggest making a stop at Bristol Oyster bar for their famous buck-a-shuck hours.

8. August: Los Andes
In the heat of August, we often finding ourselves looking for something both light and tasty to enjoy when we go out. Los Andes is just the ticket for this need. The restaurant offers a breathtaking outdoor dining area and a menu packed full of Perivian and Bolivian small plates. The paella is out of this world, but any choice you make here is guaranteed to be the right one.

9. September: Ella's Fine Food and Drink
As the weather gets a little colder, Ella's Fine Food and drink is here to fill you up and make you feel cozy AND classy. With a French and Asian-inspired menu, organic and all-natural ingredients, and ever-changing specials, this restaurant is truly something special. The duck udon and curry mussels cannot be missed.

10. October: Chengdu Taste
For Chinese food in Rhode Island, Cheng-Du taste can't be beat. With a great combination of classic America-Chinese comfort dishes and recipes more authentic to Cheng-Du China, this menu is the perfect place for all lovers of Chinese cuisine. Their cold sesame noodles may be a simple choice on a menu with so many exciting options, but they are so scrumptious!

11. November: Prince Ali's Kebab
Prince Ali's Kebab is the ideal place to get some warming food as the cold weather really starts to settle in in November. This Middle Eastern restaurant offers up big portions at affordable prices, made with fresh ingredients and great care. Everything looks great, but we particularly love the shish kebabs.

12. December: Pastiche
Pastiche is not a restaurant per se, but we would be remiss to leave it off of our list. With all the ambiance of a true French café, the pastry offerings at this delightful little spot are truly unmatched, and the coffee is pretty hard to beat as well. Seasonal offerings change out, but we think this is a great spot to cozy up before the holiday season with a cappucino and a fat slice of something scrumptious like fruit tart or tiramisu.
