This tea house, operated by Tao of Tea, is an incredible escape. Situated in the Lan Su Chinese Garden, it is a wonderful place to enjoy some peace, meet with a friend, or reflect on your day over a cup of soothing freshly brewed tea.
The garden itself is located in Old Town Chinatown, and is almost completely surrounded by a wall, making it a secret oasis in the heart of the city.
After strolling through the immensely beautiful garden, you will come upon the tea house, which is just as picturesque as its surroundings.
The two-story teahouse is one of the most dazzling around, making its name, the Tower of Cosmic Reflections, all the more fitting.
Featuring 50 seats, the classical teahouse serves tea in tea ware designed to enhance your chosen tea's character and category.
All the major types of tea are served here, including white, green, oolong, pu-er, black and herbal teas.
Following the seasons, the teas served change throughout the year to reflect the views in the garden.
Along with a variety of traditional sweets, the tea house also serves light meals, such as noodle and dumpling bowls, seasonal soups, and steamed buns.
Focusing on fair trade certified teas, Tao of Tea seeks to source teas that are made using old-style methods. The attention to detail shows in every pour, bite and moment in the tea house.
Pull up a stool and sit by the pond on a nice day to enjoy your tea outdoors.
Or sit inside the lovely tea house for a unique experience all its own.
No matter what you choose, the experience will be one you remember for a long time, as it is so much more than just a cup of tea.
To visit the Tower of Cosmic Reflections, admission to the Lan Su Chinese Garden is required. The garden is open 10 am to 7 pm from March 15 to October 31 and from 10 am to 4 pm from November 1 through March 14.
