Pennsylvania's no stranger to ghost tales. That should come as little surprise, though, considering the state's rich and storied history. We have so many places to go to experience otherworldly moments - from Gettysburg, one of the most haunted towns in the United States, to this historic, haunted tavern in Pennsylvania. Even if you don't believe in the paranormal, pull up a chair anyway, and treat yourself to a delicious meal.
Duffy's Tavern in Boalsburg has been dishing up delicious eats since it opened in 1819. Some guests were so satisfied, in fact, that they've never left.
Strange occurrences aren't new in this tavern. Chairs and other objects moving on their own and lights turning on and off are all par for the course.
Don't be at all concerned if you see an apparition on the porch or in the tavern itself. The resident ghosts are friendly.
The tavern was built by married couple Colonel James and Hannah Johnston.
No one knows, for sure, who the spirits are, but many believe one is Harry Duffy, one of the many owners of the tavern over the years.
Even if you're skeptical, pull up a chair for a meal at this historic tavern. (You might just experience something odd when you least expect it.)
From artichoke dip to chicken wings, an appetizer is the perfect way to kickstart your meal.
Candlelight will illuminate your table as you indulge in one of a generous selection of handhelds, including burgers, wraps, and sandwiches.
The menu's brimming with classic entrees, too, so you're sure to find something that hits the spot. How about filet mignon, mango chicken, or gnocchi?
