A delicious meal may stay fresh in your mind for awhile, at least until you eat another mouthwatering entree. But when dining out becomes an experience, rather than just a meal, you're likely to remember it much longer. Embrace a different dining adventure when you visit The Depot at Doolittle's in Pennsylvania. This delightful eatery used to be a railcar!
At first glance you might mistake the Depot at Doolittle's for an old-fashioned train station.
Feel the nostalgia for a simpler time wash over you as you take a moment to survey the scene, including stationary railcars, before you head inside for a truly unique dining experience.
Step inside The Depot at Doolittle's, which offers two delightfully delicious options: The Diner Car, a traditional 1950's diner, and the Parlor Car, a fine dining experience.
A lifelike statue of Elvis will greet you at the entrance of the 50's Diner Car, a 1947 passenger car.
Peruse the songs listed on the jukebox to find the one that will add just the right ambiance to your meal.
The Diner Car's menu features traditional entrees, including fried chicken, meat loaf, and hot roast beef. If you prefer something lighter, browse the appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and sides.
Of course, save room for dessert, such as the scrumptious Trainwreck Brownie Sundae. Or, indulge in an old-fashioned milkshake or root beer float.
For a farm to table dining experience, head to the Parlor Car, set in an authentic 1913 parlor car, where you'll discover a menu that features starters and small plates, including oyster bisque and grilled scallops.
Dine on a delectable entree such as the strip steak, the chicken picatta, or the filet mignon. No matter what you order, you're certain to be impressed!
The Depot at Doolittle's also offers catering and take out. If you visit on a lovely afternoon, take advantage of the breezy outdoor seating. Guests may also want to play a game of mini golf or an old-fashioned game at the nearby arcade!
Guests can enhance their experience at the Depot at Doolittle's by staying in one of the charming cabooses, including a 1901 Pullman Palace Car that once carried Teddy Roosevelt. The new bed and breakfast continually dazzles visitors.
They also have a pizza car and a nano brewery. Really, there's something for everyone at this thrilling attraction.
Browse the souvenirs before leaving the Depot at Doolittle's as you plan your return visit.
The Diner Car welcomes guests Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. while The Parlor Car is open Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
