1. Mekong Bistro

In NE Portland, this Cambodian restaurant is top notch. Open until midnight daily and 2 am on Saturday, not only can you walk in an get a seat, but you can also have a great late night meal here. Mekong Bistro is located at 8200 NE Siskiyou Street.

2. Tapalaya

This Cajun eatery should be on your list of places to eat now. Featuring a full range of amazing (and spicy) food including one of the best seafood boils in town, Tapalaya should be on your radar for dinner or brunch. Tapalaya is located at 28 NE 28th Avenue.

3. Equinox

Located in the Mississippi neighborhood, this is the perfect stop for both dinner and brunch. Serving new American cuisine, this is one restaurant you are going to want to visit, and won't have to wait to eat. Equinox is located at 830 N Shaver Street.

4. Taqueria Santa Cruz

Located in St. Johns, this taco shop and store is one of the best. Get a burrito or tacos, top them with some of the best salsas around and you have a great meal any time of the day. Tienda Y Panaderia Santa Cruz #2 is located at 8630 N Lombard Street.

5. Baan Thai

This Thai restaurant serves up some amazingly spicy and delicious food so be sure to opt for mild when making your selection if you can't handle too much heat. Located downtown, Baan Thai has great lunch specials and should have a table waiting just for you. Baan Thai is located at 1924 SW Broadway.

6. Muscadine

Skip the Tin Shed and instead head to this Southern cooking gem that rarely has a wait. Open Wednesday through Monday from 8 am to 2 pm, this is the perfect place for a leisurely brunch or lunch. Try the BBQ Cup or Cochon at 1465 NE Prescott Street.

7. Giorgio's

If you are in the mood for Italian, head over to Giorgio's for a stunningly good meal. Portions are on the small side, but flavor is big at this eatery that combines Northern Italian cuisine with Northwest delicacies. Giorgio's is located at 1131 NW Hoyt Street.

8. Nicholas Restaurant

Open since 1986, Nicholas Restaurant has been serving Mediterranean and Lebanese cuisine. With three locations around town, wait time is minimal and portions are generous and wonderfully seasoned. Nicholas Restaurant is located at 318 SE Grand Avenue, 3223 NE Broadway, and 323 N Main Avenue in Gresham.
