Most people don't go to the zoo to dine but if you're looking for a one-of-a-kind dining experience surrounded by animals, check out the Oklahoma City Botanical Garden and Zoo. It's not only the largest zoo in the state but they have a two-story restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows that offers gorgeous views of the surrounding animal habitats.
Admission to the OKC Zoo is required to eat at the restaurant but if you have a membership, then you can dine here as often as you would like.
The zoo is home to 130 acres and almost 2,000 animals. Plus, they have a variety of wild encounters where you can get up close and personal with many of the animals.
The Lotus Pavilion at Sanctuary Asia is the most popular dining establishment in the zoo that offers views of the elephants, rhinos, and Komodo dragons.
It is a two-level restaurant with large windows offering stunning views while you dine.
The space can also be rented for special events and it's one of the coolest places to host a party.
The restaurant serves tasty burgers and several other menu items you won't find at other dining spots in the zoo. The fries are amazing so be sure and give them a try.
One of my favorite spots in the restaurant is the outdoor patio which gives a better view of the surrounding animals. It's such a peaceful spot to enjoy a good meal and a unique atmosphere.
Another dining option in the zoo is The Canopy, offering a rainforest atmosphere that's so majestic. Menu items include pizza, chicken fingers, burgers, salads, and more.
