If you ask around who has the best fried chicken dinners in the Sooner State, Oklahomans will undoubtedly tell you Eischen's Bar. As the oldest bar in the state, this old-school restaurant has stood the test of time and perfected fried chicken to die for. If you've never tried it before, or you're a loyal Eischen's customer, take a drive and visit this local establishment filled with history and succulent fried chicken.
Eischen's Bar has a full-service restaurant that is family-friendly with a laid-back old school vibe. They are located at 109 2nd Street in the small town of Okarche.
The black and white checkered floor, vinyl barstools, and neon sign will take you back in time.
Eischen's first opened its doors in 1896, and after having to close for Prohibition and later a fire, they've been running strong since 1993.
They've been voted as having the best fried chicken in the state and we tend to agree. The menu is small, but who really needs much more when there's fried chicken!
The chicken is moist and tender and inside and perfectly breaded on the outside.
The chicken dinner meal is around $14 and large enough for two people to split. It comes with a whole fried chicken, bread, pickles, and onions. Plus, you can add on some delicious fried okra for an additional $7.
Before or after dining, check out the memorabilia around Eischen's. With over 120 years of history, this place has some interesting things to look at.
And, if you would like to take a piece of Eischen's home with you, check out their gear and merchandise in the Gift Shop.
