Many regions around the country are booming with new breweries, and believe it or not, Oklahoma is one of them. In fact, one of our breweries was voted best new brewery in the country and we couldn't be prouder. Here are 9 of the very best breweries you can possibly visit in the Sooner State.
1. American Solera - 1803 South 49th West Avenue, Tulsa
American Solera was named best new brewery in the country and second in the world. It was started by brewmaster Chase Healey who has received many accolades for his beers. Visit the brewery six days a week (closed on Mondays) or take a tour of the west Tulsa location on select Saturdays.
2. COOP Ale Works - 4745 Council Heights Road, Oklahoma City
Visit COOP Ale Work's taproom Wednesday thru Friday 4 -8 p.m. and Saturday 12 -8 p.m. or take a brewery tour on Saturday at 1 p.m. This craft brewery is dedicated to brewing full flavor beers and you'll instantly taste the great quality.
3. Iron Monk Brewing Company - 519 South Husband Street, Stillwater
Iron Monk is Stillwater's first and only craft brewery. Their most popular beer is the Milk Stout - a rich and hearty beer with hints of espresso and chocolate. Visit the taproom six days a week (closed Sunday) and taste up to 10 beers.
4. 405 Brewing Co - 1716 Topeka Street, Norman
As Norman's first production brewery, 405 Brewing Co is a popular spot in town. Visit this cool brewery and explore their beer Thursday and Friday from 4-8 p.m. or Saturday from 12-5 p.m.
5. Elk Valley Brewing Co - 520 North Meridian Avenue, Oklahoma City
You'll find their taproom at the Brewers Union until they finish construction on their new building in Midtown. What began as a hobby for a retired airline engineer, turned into one of Oklahoma's best breweries. Check them out the next time you're looking for a great Pale Ale or Par 3 session IPA.
6. Roughtail Brewing Company - 1279 North Air Depot Boulevard, Midwest City
Roughtail Brewing Company is an award-winning craft brewery in Midwest City. Visitors can tour the brewery on Sundays at 1 p.m. or enjoy a cold beer Thursday thru Sunday in the taproom.
7. Marshall Brewing Company - 618 South Wheeling Avenue, Tulsa
Marshall Brewing Company was Tulsa's first major production brewery. They have a great year-round selection featuring wheat beers. Visit the taproom during select hours Monday - Saturday.
8. Prairie Artisan Ales - 3 Northeast 8th, Oklahoma City,
Visit Prairie Artisan Ales taproom in OKC seven days a week from 11 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. They were ranked in the Top 100 Brewer list in 2015 by RateBeer and they continue to wow the country with their great tasting beer.
9. Dead Armadillo Brewery - 1004 East 4th Street, Tulsa
Try Dead Armadillo's most popular beer that put them on the map for great beer - The Amber Ale - a dry beer with just the right balance of hops and malt.
