The hidden gem restaurants are the best kind of restaurants. Here in Ohio, we've got several off-the-beaten-path restaurants just waiting to surprise you with their delicious food, gorgeous views and peaceful settings. One such restaurant is Spillway Lodge in Clarksville. Although it takes some time to find, it's worth the journey.
Take a look:
What appears to be a country home off a dirt road in Clarksville, Ohio is actually a delicious restaurant with incredible views.
You'll find it at 623 Old State Rd., Clarksville, OH 45113. (Please note: GPS and cell phone service may be limited.)
Spillway Lodge is an old farmhouse sitting on 128 acres of beautiful, countryside land. What started out as an 8-table restaurant in the 70s is now a homey, destination restaurant.
The restaurant is closed on Mondays and is open Tuesday - Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., on Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On the menu, you'll find delicious steakhouse classics and seafood options. Pictured is a half slab of the Baby Back Ribs.
(We recommend starting with a shrimp cocktail and trying the King Crab Legs if you're interested in the seafood options.)
The lodge has a gorgeous view of the spillway of the nearby dam that forms Cowan Lake...
...which is where it gets its name, as you may have guessed.
With such a peaceful, countryside setting, any of the views here are picturesque though. You'll feel like you're a million miles away from everything.
Please note: Reservations are recommended for parties of 8 or more. You can call (937) 289-2168.
