1) Thurman Cafe (Columbus)

Tucked away in German Village are mouthwatering overloaded burgers just waiting for a contender to take on the joint's specialty, the Thurmanator.

2) Terry's Turf Club (Cincinnati)

Deemed Ohio's Best Burger by Thrillist this year, this Cincinnati burger joint features all the fix-ins you could ever want on a burger—even if that's crab cakes.

3) Tank's Bar and Grill (Dayton)

You haven't really tired a burger until you've tried the "Tank Burger."

4) Hamburger Wagon (Miamisburg)

A rolling cart that's served burgers in the same location for nearly 100 years features a serious burger. The catch? You'll find no cheese, ketchup or mustard here. The onions and pickles only method gives the wagon its distinct reputation and allows your taste buds to focus more on the main, tastiest feature: the burger itself.

5) Crabill's Hamburgers (Urbana)

Now in its third generation of local owners, this tiny burger joint —with just eight dine-at-the-counter seats—appropriately specializes in tiny burgers.

6) Wilson's Sandwich Shop (Findlay)

Known for their burgers and homemade chili, this local joint has been in business since 1963.

7) Gahanna Grill (Columbus)

Where burger challenges abound and the famous "Beanie Burger" reigns.

8) Smoke The Burger Joint (North Canton)

Because a smoked burger is the best burger.

9) Kewpee Hamburgers

Recognized by the baby but known for its burgers, this local joint has three locations in Lima.

10) Sumburger (Chillicothe)

Where you only order via your booth's telephone or old fashioned curb service style. (Important side note: The specialty burger sauce is where it's at.)

11) Swensons Drive-in (Akron, Kent, Montrose, Canton, and Seven Hills)

Another old fashioned beloved burger joint with several locations throughout the state.

12) B-Spot (Columbus, Cleveland)

Although we share this joint with Detroit (and that's the ONLY thing we'll share with Michigan) these burgers are undeniably to die for—and they have several recognitions from the Sobe Burger Bash to prove it.
