With all the warm weather we've been experiencing in North Dakota recently, many of us could probably go for a classic cone of soft serve right now! Lucky for us, the small town seasonal ice cream shops are finally open again for the season. Head out to these old-fashioned ice cream parlors and try some of their tasty treats:

1. I Scream U Scream - Lisbon

Who else remembers that classic tune? I Scream U Scream will bring back your childhood nostalgia in both the name and their yummy soft serve ice cream. Along with ice cream, they also have a menu of lunch items including burgers, tacos, chicken, and more!

2. Polar King Drive-In - Jamestown

Polar King Drive-In has a fantastic selection of frozen dairy treats, from sundaes to cones, along with burgers and other classic American drive in food. It is like a polar bear-themed blast from the past and still delicious to this day.

3. Beyond Ice Cream - Wyndmere

Who could resist a perfect cone of soft serve like that? Beyond Ice Cream has plenty of ice cream options as well as the beyond - hence the name. You can grab lunch with the best dessert all at once. They will be reopening for the season on May 11th.

4. Whirla-Whip - Stanley

This soda fountain is located inside an old drug store in the small town of Stanley. It serves up their famous special, the Whirla-Whip. You can get just about anything mixed in with soft serve ice cream and the final result is that special item. And by just about anything, I really mean it! That includes things like bacon bits and pickles, believe it or not. There are also lots of candy and cookie flavors for a more classic taste.

5. Eats N Treats - Bowman

Head on over to this fun little ice cream parlor in Bowman for some chilly, yummy soft serve. As you'd expect with the name, they also have quite a few other types of eats and treats other than ice cream you can have while you're there.

6. McTwist Drive-In - Wishek

The McTwist Drive-In is like something straight from your childhood where you can walk up to the window on a warm summer day and get not only great soft serve, but plenty of other scrumptious desserts as well. Plus, stay a little while for a burger or other lunch, too. You won't be disappointed!
