If there's anything pretty much everyone can agree on, it's that food is pretty awesome. We like food. We all like food, no matter who we are or where we come from. It's fun to explore cities and towns using their restaurants alone; North Dakota might be one of those states with relatively few people around (we have a population of under one million people - 762,062, to be exact, which is barely enough to be considered a city, let alone a state), but that doesn't mean we don't know how it's done when it comes to culinary genius. In fact, this town (city?) is a foodie's paradise and most people don't even realize it; Fargo might just be the ultimate foodie town in North Dakota.
According to TripAdvisor, there are currently 15,102 reviews of 371 Fargo (and Fargo-area) restaurants.
Despite Fargo's relatively small size when compared to cities in other states, it's got a vast array of delightful and delicious eateries, bars, grills, steakhouses, and more to choose from.
It goes like this: if you can crave it, you can probably find it in Fargo.
Of course, there are more than enough classics like steak-and-chops spots to go around (like the must-visit Doolittle's Woodfire Grill), but you'll be pleased to find that there are harder-to-find nosh spots, too, like Kringen Lodge (which offers up Scandinavian fare) and The Himalayan Yak (which serves up Nepali delights).
And the options don't stop there; not even close.
You'll find Irish food, you'll find English food, you'll find Indian food, you'll find Turkish food, you'll find unique fusions of all sorts of places; you'll find food galore, and it's all right here in our backyard.
If you're not a fan of national chain pizza places, check out Fargo heavy-hitters like Rhombus Guys or Sammy's.
Those two pizza joints are among the best in town (and are very highly rated to reflect this).
It's pretty hard to go wrong with pizza, but some places do pizza better than others, and Fargo's got plenty!
Fargo is also home to some wonderful vegan/vegetarian spots as well, and many of our awesome restaurants cater to many different dietary restrictions and preferences.
It comes down to this: if you're hungry and interested in trying out some food tourism, it doesn't get a whole lot better than Fargo when it comes to North Dakota hidden gems.
